A humanized monoclonal antibody with antineoplastic activity. Matuzumab binds the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) with highaffinity, competitively blocking natural ligand binding andblocking receptor-mediated downstream signalling, resulting in impaired tumor cell proliferation.
