What does a session involve?

Sessions last a few minutes, the person stays clothed, nothing is applied, and in the usual method nothing is touched. That last detail is what the name misleads people about most often.
Has the energy field been demonstrated?
No. The practice assumes a human energy field extending beyond the skin, and no measurement has confirmed that such a field exists. In a widely reported test, experienced practitioners were asked to say which of their own hands a person's hand was held near, screened from view, and they scored no better than guessing. Physiological claims made for the method, including stimulation of the immune system, have no supporting evidence.
