Definition / meaning of NG-monomethyl-L-arginine

An amino acid derivative with potential antineoplastic activity. NG-monomethyl-L-arginine inhibits the enzyme nitric oxide synthase, resulting in a diminution of nitrous oxide production. This agent may inhibit tumor angiogenesis.
